Madera Parks “Stomp out Bullying” – Special Movies in the Park Event Planned Friday

The event, which will take place at Lion’s Town & Country Park, will feature special guest speakers and a free raffle (grade school–college students only) for what the Parks Department teases as an “Apple-MAZING” gift – a computer generously donated by the United Way of Fresno & Madera Counties. Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.

Event Schedule:

  • Event start: 6:00pm
  • Guest speakers: 6:30pm – 7:00pm*
  • Movie start time: 7:15pm**times are approximate

 

Guests speakers include: Youth Leadership Institute (YLI)

 

Additional Information: The City of Madera Parks & Community Services Department is pleased to have partnered with PG&E to offer this extension to its Movies in the Park series. Space is limited; it is advisable to arrive early for optimal seating. No alcoholic beverages or pets will be permitted. Parking is limited. This event and the motion picture screening of the film “Wonder” was originally scheduled to take place in August during the regular Movies in the Park season but was rescheduled due to unhealthy air conditions.
