City of Madera declares local state of emergency due to sewer trunk failure

Thank you for your patience. The sewer system has been stabilized, and it is now ok to continue with regular water use. Comprehensive repairs are planned, and we expect this work to begin soon. Roads will remain closed until further notice.
 
 

 

The City of Madera has identified additional sewer line breaks in the vicinity of W. Pecan and S. Granda.

Drinking water remains safe for consumption, but please avoid non-essential water usage. Activities such as laundry, dishwashing, and prolonged showers and baths contribute to the strain on the sewer system.

Madera city officials appreciate the cooperation and understanding of residents during this challenging time. Updates regarding the situation will be provided as they become available.
