City of Madera announces the return of the Citizens Academy

The City of Madera is thrilled to announce the return of the Madera Citizens Academy for the Summer of 2024! This engaging and informative series of classes will begin on July 15th and conclude with a special Graduation Dinner and Q&A session on September 9th, 2024. Sessions will be held every Monday evening (excluding Labor Day) from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with dinner served at 5:45 PM for all participants.
 
The Madera Citizens Academy is designed for leaders from neighborhoods, businesses, and community organizations who want to learn about the inner workings of local government. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how the City of Madera operates, with sessions covering a range of topics including fire services, parks and community services, community development, police, finance and human resources, and public works.
 
The City is seeking 15 passionate applicants who represent different parts of the community to participate in the summer program. This is a unique opportunity to engage with fellow residents, gain valuable insights, and contribute to the future of Madera.

There is no cost to participate in the Citizens Academy, but space is limited. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Friday, July 5th, 2024. Interested residents can apply online at www.madera.gov/academy.
