Upon dissolution of redevelopment agencies February 1, 2012, the City of Madera elected to retain the housing assets and affordable housing functions of the former Redevelopment Agency as the Successor Housing Agency, now subject to the affordable housing related provisions of California Redevelopment Law (CRL). Senate Bill 341, which was approved by the Governor October 13, 2013 and went into effect January 1, 2014, amended provisions of the CRL relating to the functions to be performed by the housing successor and required new annual reporting on affordable housing financial activity, containing information regarding the Low-Moderate Income Housing Asset Fund of the former redevelopment agency.
